The Model Context Prot ocol (MCP) offers a novel approach to structuring and serving contextual i nformation to AI models\, enabling more intelligent and targeted interacti ons between software and users. In this seminar I will provide a brief in troduction to MCP\, explain its core principles and the possible dangers w hen using MCP. A case study for a large scientific software with multiple different interfaces (XML\, python) will show how MCP can be useful to fac ilitate onboarding of new users and speed up the work of experienced users .
