We are pleased to announce the event “Vibe-a-thon” at BC410 and Zoom on *Tuesday, 15 December, from 13:00 to 17:00
Abstract
During the RSECon26, I asked various people the question
how do you collaborate on purely vibe-coded software.
Lots of people were curious themselves about the answer,
so I thought it would be an interesting experiment to do!
We propose a 4h VIBE-A-THON on Tuesday, the 15th of December from 1pm to 5pm where all interested people will all work on the same project using their favorite LLM tools. The location depends on the availability of rooms: You can either meet physically with your group, join an open space (there will be at least one at EPFL), or join remote.
We’ll collect as much data as anonymously possible, and then search for inflection points where the collaboration improved / worsened. If you’re interested, please sign up here before the 27th of November. The time after that is for the final preparations.
Preparation
After the sign-up phase, we’ll proceed with the following steps:
- make groups of 2-3 people
- propose open-space meeting rooms, if possible (we’ll provide one at EPFL)
- ask you to accept our privacy policy and rules
- if we get sponsors, set up your LLM tools to use our API endpoints
The day of the Vibe-a-thon

- one gitlab repo, empty
- one lasuite-meet video conference
- one matrix space
- many many tokens
- 4h of time
Follow-up
We’ll create an anonymised dataset which we publish under a CC license, so interested people can have a look at it themselves. Then we’ll create a short evaluation and look which insights are useful in the context of LLMs:
- which types of collaboration advanced the project the most?
- what activities / steps improved the collaboration?
- what important decisions have been made?
If there is interest, we consider a Vibe-a-thon II where we implement some of the findings of our evaluation.
